Image Firsts: TWD #1 a Top Seller for April 2010

According to ICv2′s Diamond Comic Distributors to comic stores, the reissue of The Walking Dead from Image comics sold 59,152 copies of the comic in April. This places the comic in 15th place for April sales of comics. One should note that the comic was being sold for $1.00, but one can only expect the series to grow in more popularity as the television show nears. The reprint of the first issue of The Walking Dead is a new line of reprints from Image Comics called “Image firsts.”

Also to note, all 11 volumes of the trade paperback of The Walking Dead were lsited on ICv2′s chart. Volume 1 was at the forefront of the other volumes which indicates of a possible new readership.

The Walking Dead Television series has started filming and will air it’s first episode in October.
