Earlier today AMC posted an interview with Greg Nicotero, along with his FX company KNB EFX Group, are the lead designers behind the zombies in AMC’s The Walking Dead. USA Today did an interview themselves too, but this one was with The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. In the interview they discusses what is currently happening in The Walking Dead’s comic series at the Safe-Zone, also that the comic is still #1 to him. They also discuss the TV series too and if we’ll ever see a Kirkman cameo and his love for character drama. Here’s a small part of the interview:
Kirkman hopes that the series has a good run: “I’m hoping we blow past M*A*S*H. M*A*S*H, The Simpsons, Bonanza— I want 27 years of The Walking Dead!” However, as much as producers offer him cameos as a zombie in the show, there will be no shambling in his future.
“I like TV and I enjoy watching shows, and getting to watch your own comic book as a show seems like a pretty cool thing,” he says. “If I were sitting there and I saw myself walking by on screen, that would just ruin it for me. I don’t want to see myself up there. Yuck!
While it kind of sucks that we won’t be seeing a cameo by Kirkman anytime soon, I don’t really mind it. I know I’ll still just love the show anyways.
