Things From Another World interviewed Robert Kirkman regarding The Walking Dead Comic as well as the television show. They also discussed his work on Invincible and Pilot Season. Be warned that the interview contains spoilers to those that may not be caught up in the comic.
Robert Kirkman explained to TFAW that he didn’t take much enjoyment in killing any of the characters from The Walking Dead. He did look forward to the fan reaction to the deaths of certain characters but did not take pleasure in it. He also talked about his regret in Rick losing his hand. However, he admits that the comic may not have as much of an impact if that had not happened.
Kirkman also talks about the current storyline and how the characters have changed since the beginning of the comic. He puts forth the question of how far down the dark path have the main group gone? He also speaks about the community that the group finds themselves in and reveals that the secret of the town will most likely be revealed in issue #76.
Kirkman discusses his excitement over the upcoming television show. He reveals that they are about to start filming the episode that he wrote, Episode 4. He talks about his experience working with the writers of the show and how ground breaking he believes the show will be on television.
