Last month AMC did an interview with Special Effects Make-Up Artist Greg Nicotero of the KNB EFX Group. Nicotero and his company are probably one of the best effects group in Hollywood and have worked on plenty of movies, movies like: The Mist, Inglorious Basterds (2009), a couple George Romero’s “…Of The Dead” movies, and The Hills Have Eyes. Just to name a few. I’m a person that loves practical effects over CGI, I feel like there is more value in practical effects because it’s actually there and a physical object, whereas if it’s done in CGI and the CGI isn’t completely believable, the movie and visual experience is ruined for me.
The other day MTV went to the downtown Atlanta set of The Walking Dead to catch up with everyone. They also took their cameras. During their time on the set, they chatted with Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman, and Greg Nicotero. Nicotero talked a bit about the scale of the shoot and how awesome it is, the footage we saw of the shoot proved how awesome it is. Well MTV News released a small interview they did with Nicotero which you can watch below:
