As soon as we got an official announcement that AMC was taking The Walking Dead to San Diego Comic-Con 2010, we here at The Walking Dead Podcast got excited. So excited we instantly began planning ways to get all the information back to every that happened at the Con for everyone not attending. Josh and myself began looking for someone, anyone, who would take time out of their day (and was also attending Comic-Con) to cover the panel for us. Luckily having worked with MovieViral.com in the past, I looked at their partner site FusedFilm.com and Kevin Coll, the head writer. After talking with Kevin and Josh together on Skype, Kevin was more than excited to live blog for us, and we had everything set up.
Well, just because we have everything set up, doesn’t mean that things go our way. Today was the big event and from early on the line for The Walking Dead was long. Dan Koelsch over at MovieViral.com was worried that he wouldn’t make it into the panel on time, but eventually he did. Immediately I asked him about Kevin’s whereabouts and he said that Kevin didn’t make it in. So in the final minutes before panel began, Dan threw up a live blog on his website and kept us (The Walking Dead Podcast) and The Walking Dead Fanclub amazingly up-to-date on the events as they were happening and I would tweet and retweet everything Walking Dead related during the panel’s time slot, at least giving some of our wonderful readers the coverage we promised.
Josh and myself are very sorry that we couldn’t come through 100% with the coverage that we had originally hoped on giving everyone. There is no one to blame here, to point fingers at or people be mad at, Kevin fought like crazy to get into the panel, I guess we all just underestimated how big it was going to be. So please, readers, do understand that both Josh and myself feel sorry for not being able to completely live up to what we had in mind.
