It’s been a long, long month since Comic-Con and the premiere of their trailer. A long month of watching low quality bootlegged videos from YouTube, waiting anxiously for the official trailer from AMC. I’m too excited to type anything, so here:
AMC also tells us that the pilot will air on Halloween (October 31st) and will be a 90 minute pilot.

Awesome Corey, where did you find the featured image?!
Ha, nevermind.
AMC must hate ratings. All their audience is going to be out partying when the show premieres. Yes, on paper, it sounds like a great idea. However, in reality, it’s a horrible time slot.
Also, this puts the premiere party in jeapordy. Finding a place to host a premiere party on Halloween is going to be almost impossible. We’re gonna have to reevaluate and see if it’s even plausible.
Such a bummer.
Yea that’s what I was thinking as well, but seeing as how they definitely wanted the show to air on Sundays they would either have to change the airing for only the 31st or wait until after Halloween, which would be worse I think.
I know a lot of people that are going to watch this are probably going to DVR it anyways, which from my understanding also factors in to the ratings equation correct?
Awesome. No complaints here. People will either watch it, DVR it, find a repeat during the week, download it (not that I’m suggesting that) or not watch it at all. AMC will give it another season. I don’t think there’s any question. It’s going to be a very long 2 months. Bah.
Screw it, I’m having a Halloween party based around this.
DVR doesn’t factor into over night ratings which is exactly what is important to advertisers. The overall ratings aren’t quite as big of a deal because DVR people tend to fast forward through commercials.
Also, we are thinking of throwing a Finale Party instead of a Premiere Party. We’re still trying to think this through. Halloween through a wrench into this whole equation.
I’ll still watch it on Halloween…drunk off my ass. I’m sure all of us will figure out a way to watch the premiere on the 31st regardless.
Halloween falls on a Sunday so I would wager that most parties are on a Saturday. Also the lateness of the show should help viewing stats.
I was a little dissapointed that the trailer was the exact same as the one shown at comic con.Once I started watching it however, It was like seeing it for the first time all over again.I picked up on so many more things after finally seeing the trailer in a high quality.
Epic story line. after listing to the podcast and the trailer. I’m interested on whats going to happen on the actual Show.
Love zombies, not sure if i’ll stay home to watch preimer on halloween night but will dvr it to watch the next day.
