Well, now I’m officially jealous and a little annoyed. I just woke up to check my tumblr and I saw that The Walking Dead FXUK updated their post with an Exclusive Screening of The Walking Dead Open To All. The blog says:
Forget Guy Fawkes Night, New Years Eve and all those other so-called notable holiday events. It’s all about September 28th. On this night, at a famous London venue, the director’s cut, never-before-seen episode one of the Walking Dead will be screened exclusively to 250 members of the public. And surely those of you who are luckily enough to attend will have questions. Lots of them. Well at this exclusive event they will be answered. Four special guests, series cast and crew (names will be revealed in good time), will participate in a question and answer session. And what’s more Charlie Brooker is going to be your host for the night. So please watch this space and have your left mouse clicking finger at the ready to book your seat when tickets go on sale soon. In the meantime remember September 28th!
Now, while I’m extremely excited for the UK viewers, I think it’s kind of unfair. Us American viewers haven’t gotten any Walking Dead goodies, save the HD Comic-Con trailer. UK viewers have gotten a sneak peek at the first scene in the pilot, and now this? What’s up with that, AMC? When are we going to get something good. I don’t want to have to rely on bootleg YouTube videos to get a chance to see what the UK fans got to see. I wish we could have someone from the UK go for us here at The Walking Dead Podcast, that’d at least be something.

It’s not so bad, we get to watch the episode 3 days later. It won’t premiere until sometime in November for the UK.
I think Fox is pushing it heavily in the UK because you have a well known British actor as the lead character. Am I jealous? Sure, but it’s only a few days before us.
Overall, they are the ones that are usually on the outs with premieres and what not. We usually get to watch everything before them. This is their chance to get one up on us Americans.
I would go for you guys but my heavily pregnant wife will definitely veto it before the idea has barely passed my lips. I know, how selfish is she?
Actually if my math is right it’s a full MONTH before it even premieres here in the states. WTF AMC?
Solar, you’re right. I had a brain fart. Maybe FX is just more fan friendly? I have no clue.
Josh is right!
America gets all movies/TV shows before the UK (yes, Im British)
Sometimes we have to wait for months before we get to see anything and even The Walking Dead will be shown a couple of weeks before in America, it’s just this one off special we are getting!..
In your faces! lol
Unfortunately the screening has been cancelled, I can only guess who’s fault that is.
I’m trying to get confirmation with FXUK. I just sent them an email, hopefully we’ll get official word and see what exactly happened. I feel bad for all the UK listeners out there.
The date for the first episode in the UK is 5th November on FX… Looking good!
