Glowing Reviews for The Walking Dead

Posted by Josh D. on Oct 19, 2010 in The Walking Dead News | 4 comments

Well, early reviews are coming in for The Walking Dead and they have all been nothing but positive. The few criticsms have been very minor and are easily overlooked. The consensus is that The Walking Dead is a ground breaking show with some claiming it is the best show curently on television.

Dread Central – 5 out of 5
“Hats off to Darabont, Hurd, Kirkman and AMC for creating another winner! “The Walking Dead” is a milestone in television and in many ways, the first A-level horror series. It’s classy, epic and old school in the best ways and makes you realize why you originally fell in love with this genre.”

Fused Film – A
“A sensational first exploit of zombies on the small-screen, The Walking Dead is real, painful and authentic horror with gritty post apocalyptic style. What makes it amazing is that this introduction of a cult comic series to the mass public, The Walking Dead is a show that makes even the dead seem more human. Outstanding acting and compelling characters, this is one the best attempts at zombie filmmaking ever. Frank Darabont’s vision combined with Kirkman’s creation and Bear McCreary’s score gives a treat to fans of the comics, horror junkies and zombie nerds alike but leaves it open for a whole new audience to jump into and enjoy.”

io9
“All in all, I was perched at the edge of my couch the entire time. The only time I looked away from the television was to see if everyone else was enjoying this series as much as I was — which they were.”

Screen Junkies
“There’ve been other post-apocalyptic shows but they didn’t have the “Mad Men” street cred. AMC’s zombie apocalypse show does.”

 BlogoMatic3000
” … but suffice to say this first episode marks the series as the premiere show on television today… There I’ve said it. The Walking Dead is THE best show on TV. Period. ”

So, there you have it. If you had any doubt left in your mind you can erase it now. The Walking Dead has lived up to the hype and we are all in line for a rollercoaster of a television show.

I already know the show is going to be great, but its not exactly news when horror blogs start praising the show and calling it the best thing on TV. Of course they think its great; those guys will tell you that “Survival of the Dead wasn’t as good as Romero’s earlier work, but its still pretty good”. Its like if Harry Knowles loves something, you just kind of expected it.

press is press I guess, even if it is expected. And by the way “It’s like if Harry Knowles loves something, you just kind of expected it.” funniest thing I’ve heard all day.

The cast and story are amazing and I really have to say that the casting of Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon is the greatest thing you could have done….. There is NOT a more talented actor working currently and everything this guy touches seems to be amazing. Great casting in the series and I can NOT wait to start watching the series weekly……

I am not a big fan of zombie flicks or in this case shows but I will be watching to see Norman Reedus. He is such a talent and I just wish that I had more opportunities to see him on screen. Hopefully, they don’t kill of his character… ;)

if u guys know how to find tv shows and movies thru torrent sites the first ep has been leaked. it's awsum. true to the original comic. slightly extended or altered scenes i think intended to mess with fans of the comic.

all i say is if u find it and DL it, plz still watch the show on amc.  got to get those numbers up so the show gets picked up for a second season… or u can be patient and wait for the 31st. see if u can resist.
