Great Podcast guys. will be following.

I personally taught the bad guy on the roof sniping, was so generic, he would be later fed to the zombies or sacrificed. I really didn’t expect him to be left there. Hope will see more of him.. at least knowing what happened. He s going to make a great twist in the show once he comes back.

btw, what s with zombies not able to climb the ladder up to the roof but jumping fences…

Excuse my english, i am german and dislecix.

I thought this episode was very very weak. I hope the rest of the Show will be more like Episode one… i don´t mind the action, but i mind the flatness of the storytelling. It´s not about zombies and gore, thats just the iceing on the cake.

Shane is being portraied as a flat out asshole. We all know whats going to happen but the way he is written is just extra lame. The biggest Ideot in the crowed is readyy to hate hime, no surprise, no build up, no tension, no two sides of the medal.

You don´t notice it this much because Merel (the guy on the roof) is even flatter. Why would anyone bring such a lunatic that is an endagerment for everyone around him. Again, no two sides of the medal – he just is a gigant asshole.
The toolbox got fliped over, i bet he will be able to free himself… it´s not a big surprise… havent you noticed how there has been no human death for the tv viewer after the zombie apocalips yet? I bet Merel will kill T-Dawg (seriusly, what a name, he´s like black so t daaawwwwggg yo bihatsches… would have never happend in the comic) and everyone will see the very “deep” msg of a human killing a human before any zombie kills a human in front of the TV Viewer.

There is just a ton of stuff wrong. Weeks, maybe month in a zombie apocalips and Andrea is not able to unlock her gun? Seriusly?

The whole sceen in the beginning with lori going in the woods was extremly stupid, just for a cheap scare… and after building up the fear of being in the woods alone… there could be a zombie everywere…. LETS PUSH OUR FACES in the dirt while having Sex. This should have been a short movie were the viewer dossent know that it´s a zombie apocalypse. And than have them torn apard while having sex. Fin. >_>

I feel that they are afraid to put up real scares. For example, look at 28 weeks later, the opening sceen. Everything shot very narrow, anything could happen all the time…. the comic had this to, on TV it feels like gore, but not horror. Hmmm…

The best thing, in my eyes, is Glenn. He is casted perfect and the writing is a very good combination of drawing from the comic and buidling for a TV Show (comedy relief). If the show continues like it was in Episode to (wich i hope it dossent) he might become what Hurly was on Lost. If this turns into a good show he might be even bigger like Lem on The Shields Lem for example.

I am sorry, i love the comic, i realy want to like this, but good makeup and gore dos not make up for bad writing… i hope the rest of the season is more well thought out like Episode one. :-(

thanks for checking in, folks. this is irwin, btw.

as you may have gleaned, i’m not too big a fan of merle myself. and good points brought up concerning the inconsistencies.

personally, i got a big kick out of the action, which did happen to crowd out the emotional aspects of the show. i’m sure that going forward the tone will swing firmly towards the character side of things. i think this ep was a calculated correction for the first, which was excellent while being very character-heavy.

I don´t mind action at all. It just needs to make a limited amount of sense for a show like this to be what i want it to be.

I can watch this like 24 or Dexter, a guilty pleasure were you kinda loving it becaus it has good production value and kinda laughing at it becaus it´s flatness became a running gag (at least to me).

But i want this to be something i watch like The Shield or The Wire, were (almost) every “WOW!” had it´s reasons, it´s build up, it´s followup and character (+actors playing them) that fit perfectly. – And i want to watch it like these Shows because thats what the comic is to me. (and lets face it, there is a reason why comics in genneral are looked down opon, Kirkman has created two Gems with Invincible and TWD)

From what i heared the next Episode will be a Character Driven one, yes. I think this Episode will show us a lot about what creative direction the show will take. I hope for the best. I want to like this so bad. Please make me Mr. Darabond! Pwueas!

Another Prime example of a very good show seems to be Terriers. It´s my fav Show on TV right now (it´s on FX), best new Show of the Season.

I really enjoyed the episode. I do actually like the tone of the first episode more however. I just feel like it gave a great sense of drama and gravitas to the whole situation. Hopefully the show is able to maintain a great balance of action and serious drama. I just bought the first book in the comic series and the part where they take advantage of the zombie’s innards was WAY more hardcore on the show lol.

What do you think will come of Tdogg and the racist?

Merle kills T-Dawg and gets killed by Rick in return.

We need a Deadpool. Who dies next? Winner gets a Prize. Make it happen Irwin and Josh!

Haha. I really really really really really hope we get a lot more of Morgan. I wonder how important the characters that people say weren’t in the comic are going to be. I like that the show is willing to do its own thing in areas.
