You and a Friend Can Be Made Up as a Walking Dead Zombie for a Day

CharityBuzz is running an auction to raise money for Grameen Research and KNB is offering to transform the winning bidder and a friend into a zombie for the day and then give an exclusive tour of KNB EFX Studios.

Description

You and a friend will spend a day getting made up to look like a Walking Dead zombie by Oscar and Emmy-award winning makeup effects specialist, Gregory Nicotero! You will also have the opportunity to tour KNB EFX Studios to watch the special effects artists in action!

The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse; it follows a small group of survivors traveling across the desolate United States in search of a new home away from the shuffling hordes of the undead. The show premiered on AMC this past October, and has been renewed for a second season of 13 episodes.

Walking Dead’s Special FX Make-Up Designer Greg Nicotero unquestionably knows his zombies. One look at the photos of his undead creations for the AMC series is proof enough of that. Working with creator Frank Darabont, he handles the acclaimed undead creations for AMC’s horror/drama series, The Walking Dead, where Greg acts as 2nd unit director and consulting producer as well.

KNB EFX Group, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Gregory Nicotero and Howard Berger and over the past 23 years, they have become one of the most prolific Special Make-up Effects studios in Hollywood. Specializing in character prosthetics, animatronics, creatures an replica animals, Greg and Howard have over 700 feature and television credits including Inglourious Basterds, The Transformer Trilogy, Kill Bill 1&2, Predators, Splice, The Book of Eli, Drag Me To Hell, The Last Exorcism, Hostel 1&2, The Green Mile, and Piranha 3D, and the Narnia series, to name a few.

KNB EFX state of the art 20,000 square foot facility is located in Chatsworth, California and is the home to a variety of tremendously skilled designers, sculptors, painters and lab technicians. From extensive prosthetic character makeups to fully animatronic puppets, Greg and Howard have been able to pride themselves on working with some of the most talented artists in Hollywood.
