Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston revealed in an interview that The Walking Dead may return as soon as July of this year.
“It was a decision from AMC that they wanted to position us in July, along with Mad Men. And I believe they’re going to put Walking Dead in July as well. I think it’s just a sensible thing — they want to attract as many eyeballs as possible, away from the heavy competition of the September, November, January start.”
Now, don’t get your hopes up too much. There has been no word from AMC of an official premiere date. One fact that contradicts Bryan’s statement is the monstrous numbers that The Walking Dead brought in October, November, and December. With such a hit show, one has to question what advantage AMC would have in pushing the show forward. What show would they put in their fall lineup if not The Walking Dead? One could argue that The Walking Dead is their best show to capture advertisers for the heavy fall line up.
Stay tuned for further news.

I was really hoping this was true. However, some of the cast made it clear at the Golden Globes that shooting on season 2 doesn’t start until May. No way they’ll be back in July.
You could alway run the Show while later Episodes are still being filmed. I am not a 100%, but i belive i read that the big “24 Episodes per Season” Shows do this.
I don´t know how AMC handels it´s normal weekly Shows, but usualy most Episodes of most Shows are shoot within one week. So it could be don…
The question is, with as many continuety and logig problems as there were in Season one, do you realy want to give em this extra pressure of having to get everything don ASAP.
Another option would be half Seasons, like BSG or South Park did/do them. It would still give you a Season premiere on Halloween for the second half after you scored big numbers in the summer.
