According to a collider.com interview with Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Hotfuzz, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Frank Darabont has asked Edgar Wright to direct an episode of The Walking Dead. And even though Wright has directed a Zombie flick in the past he expressed his doubts about the whole thing when asked if he would direct an episode:
Collider.com: Or The Walking Dead would be good.
Edgar Wright: Frank asked me to do a Walking Dead, actually. But I feel that there’s some subject matter that, like, even though it’d be great– and I love that show: I actually watched four of the six episodes uninterrupted in one run; it was like zombie Pringles– I think that with something like that, with some TV shows, you wanna be in on the ground floor.
Collider.com: So you don’t feel like…did you say no?
Edgar Wright: Well, I really enjoyed the first season, and I wouldn’t wanna be the guy that comes in and fucks it up.
This news is unfortunate because I think he would have made a great director for The Walking Dead, Maybe if us fans tweet him and give him enough encouragement and drive, he will do it!
