The Dixon Brothers and the Rick/Lori/Shane Love Triangle in Season 2

Robert Kirman, who was recently interviewed, has said that while Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) will definitely be back but he neither confirmed nor denied that Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) will return or make an appearance:

“All we know for sure is that he cut his hand off and he’s in the wind. If he is alive, imagine how pissed he’s gonna be.”

Kirkman also commented on the Rick/Lori/Shane love triangle, I have previously posted that Sarah Wayne Callies would really like to see the love triangle play out and while she didn’t actually confirm anything, Kirkman has said that the love triangle will be “the emotional core of the Second Season” and that:

“It is definitely something we will be dealing with in a big way, and I also warn people to expect a lot of unexpected twists and turns along the way.”

So, what we can gather from this is that yes Daryl will be back, and yes the love triangle will be addressed in a very big way that will play out throughout the Second Season.  But we can’t officially say if Merle will be back, hopefully they will bring him back!
