MTV recently got a chance to sit down with actor Norman Reedus. The interview was apparently for Lady Gaga’s new music video “Judas” where Norman Reedus portrays the titular character, but they did manage to get in a few Walking Dead related questions which actually reveal quite a few details about Daryl and Season 2 in general. And as an added bonus MTV has posted a video of the actual interview in the article.
He reveals in the interview that they will be shooting just south of Atlanta mostly in the woods:
“We’re in the woods this time,” he explained. “The first season we did the city … but this time we’re in the country. I think it gets a little more hardcore this season.”
And when asked what we can expect from Daryl in Season 2 he said:
“They actually let me talk to some of the people I don’t usually get to talk to, and I’ve heard some stories about what’s going to go down. I’m really excited to get back to it.” And “I think I have a little bit of hero stuff coming, which I’m excited about,” he hinted. “If I tell you more than that, I’ll probably get bit by a zombie the first day I get down there.”
And finally he said that there is a possibility that Michael Rooker will return and that Rooker’s character Merle IS NOT THE GOVERNOR!:
“I do know that my brother is not The Governor,” he said. “That I can say, because I’ve heard Frank [Darabont] say it.”
It feels great to finally be getting some actual news about the Second Season of The Walking Dead! And hopefully we’ll be getting some more news like this in the days/weeks to follow!
