At this year’s E3 convention it was revealed that while The Walking Dead video game WILL NOT be featuring Rick or any of the other survivors as playable characters. Instead, the game will be focused on two new characters. The first one is a young girl named Clementine but unfortunately we don’t have any information about her at this point. The second is a man named Lee who is revealed to be a prisoner who is in a vehicle going somewhere when a roamer aimlessly walks into oncoming traffic which causes the vehicle that Lee is in to crash. Lee’s story is said to be playing a key role in the story as we learn what really went on and why he’s in the spot he’s in. And while Lee and Clementine are going to be the main characters in the game, TellTale Games’ Executive Producer Kevin Boyle says that:
“There will be some overlap with characters fans are familiar with. “Our general take, though, is creating a story with characters player’s aren’t familiar with,”
Boyle has also said that it is important that players don’t know what will happen because it will make it harder for the player to make tough decisions which the player will be forced to make:
“The heart of what we want to get to is presenting players with those struggles of what’s the right choice when presented with two equally awful decisions,”
But, the game won’t be totally devoted to hard decision making and relationships, the game will also feature tons of zombies that will be a constant threat:
“The threat of this unrelenting force that just keeps coming and coming and coming until you’re dead…that needs to be there to feel like a Walking Dead game, “The zombies are no small part of this.”
The Walking Dead Video Game is rumored to be out in the Fall of 2011.
