At this years E3 convention Telltale Games brought along a preview of their Walking Dead game. A couple days ago it was reported that the game will not be featuring Rick or any of the other survivors we’re familiar with as playable characters, instead the game will be featuring two new characters, a prisoner named Lee and a young girl named Clementine and that’s all we knew.
But now we know that we will be playing as Lee, who is trying to make his way through the deep south. Lee’s Journey will begin in the back of a prison transport bus that crashes while trying to avoid hitting a walker. After the crash Lee wakes up alone in the zombie apocalypse. But Lee won’t be alone for long, he will meet Clementine, who was left to fend for herself after her parents had gone missing, and who will join Lee in his journey. Also, some of the characters from the comic book will be making appearances in the game but like I said before they won’t be playable.
While Telltale games didn’t bring any actual images or a demo of the game, they did say that the gameplay will revolve around the concept of quick time events during intense scenes, which will probably be like trying to unlock a door while zombies are closing in or something like that. The game will also be very dark in tone which is unusual for Telltale Games whose repertoire includes such games as Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, Tales Of Monkey Island, and Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse.
