Just days after appearing with the cast and crew of The Walking Dead at this years San Diego Comic-con, Executive Producer Frank Darabont is stepping down from that role. During the San Diego Comic-con Darabont gave no hint that he was stepping down in fact he even said that conversations had taken place regarding three major roles for the upcoming season and whether or not he will stay on the series is unclear.
But if you look back, Darabont told THR that he feared that the show will suffer budget cuts:
“Creatively I have no complaints thus far. But I believe if they do move ahead with what they’re talking about (the budget cuts), it will affet the show creatively in a negative way which just strikes me as odd. If you have an asset, why would you punish it?”
Maybe that lead to step down from his position and maybe even the show completely? If he is stepping down and leaving it can only leave us Walking Dead fans wondering if it will affect the show negatively or positively.

I think this will be a good thing. Frank was pivotal in making the show happen, but his loyalties to actors he’s worked with have negatively affect the show. The actress who plays Andrea is too old and ‘mom-ish’ and ruined the Andrea character for me. The storylines in the first season were also a little generic and hopeful, give me gritty like the comic.
