So now that the 7 episodes of Season 2 that Frank Darabont helmed have now aired. Darabont has decided to speak out about his departure from the show and according to him a big part of why he left was because of the show’s budget cuts.
“…I was really given no choice. I don’t understand the thinking behind, ‘Oh, this is the most successful show in the history of basic cable. Let’s gut the budgets now.’ I never did understand that and I think they got tired of hearing me complain about it. It’s a little more complicated than that, but that’s as far as I want to go with it because otherwise it’s just provoking more controversy and that’s not really of interest to me. I just want to keep my head down and do my job and be allowed to do my job, that’s key, and continue to, hopefully, enjoy it and do good work.”
Darabont also reveals how the cast and crew took the news.
“These people are like family to me. It has not been easy for anybody. Let me put it that way: It was like a death in the family. Only I was the dead guy. I felt like William Holden, face down in the swimming pool, narrating this thing.”
Darabont also went on to talk about his new show “L.A. Noir” and if you would like to read about it click here and scroll down to the bottom of the page!

You should put a link up to the TV Guide story that this is from so people can read the entire Q and A.
I just think the Darabont and Kirkman didn’t mix and Kirkman wanted control.
As terrible as the show was/is written i bet Kirkman wanted more controle.
The mob watched this because of the zombies, you could have the cast fart all show long and the mob would still like it.
I am looking verymuch forward to kirkman and the guy of the the shield writing team takeing over. Hopefully we get some storys we don´t know from the comic yet, but that are up to the comics standart of writing.
If we are lucky this will end up like Buffy, once they knew they had something going, the writing qualety picked up big time.
New Comic book out today btw.
what comic book is out?
