Hi Gentlemen!
Regarding the lack of protection against infection in the use of knives… let’s just assume that everyone is infected. Then, it doesn’t matter if you clean a knife, get blood splattered into your orifices, have open sores, etc. No PPD (personal protective device), no cautionary methods would matter because the infection has no bearing UNTIL the characters die. Once they die, the infection will cause them to reanimate.
Seems logical to me.

I was under the impression that they worry about the bites and the germs/disease or such within the bite causing infection/death/walker texas ranger. Daryl and Rick pulling drippy zombie bodies over themselves as a camouflage seems to hint at much less a concern of physical contact vs munching.
As for Dale buck naked washing in a stream, yeah, that’s one of the things the audience has been waiting all season for Josh. That or Herchel . . .
