I just thought I would give my two cents on what I think happened with the initial outbreak and see what you guys think.
Something has happened to release the disease/infection into the general populous. Per, Dr. Jenner, they were tracking this, so it was known to the government and they were probably responsible. After that, over a short period of time hundreds of thousand or perhaps million of people became sick and died around the same time. Something would have to happen like this to cause the situation to not be able to be contained. A sudden influx of millions of zombies attacking the populous thus causing those who are not eaten to also become “Walkers”.
At the same time there were all the others who are infected but their immune systems were strong enough to stay off the infection from killing them immediately. However, if those who are left are bit/scratched they have such an influx of the infection that it overpowers the immune system. This is would explain why a bite would kill even though they are already infected.
Your podcast is great, keep it up.
Me, again
I was just listening to the podcast for Better Angels and you were wondering where the zombies in the woods came from. From the way it looked to me, Shane was taking Rick further and further away from the farm, until they came upon that clearing. I didn’t get the feeling that they were at a clearing by the farm, but in the middle of the woods. Also, per AMC, Carl was actually following them (which don’t make any sense, but oh well). The zombies came from the other side of the clearing. So it appears as though the zombies were just a little further away, so if Shane and Rick would have walked a little further and crossed the clearing they would have run into the zombies.
Have you guys even done a podcast for “Better Angels” or are you doing a podcast for both that episode and the season finale as one? Because this podcast was the last thing to show up for me in iTunes.
