It’s pretty obvious when you watch The Walking Dead Season 3 promos that AMC and Dish aren’t on good terms. Dish has refused to offer AMC as a part of their service because of a legal dispute between the two companies. But Dish customers will be happy to know that AMC will be offering a live stream of the Season 3 premiere on the amctv.com website which will be available at the same time that the show premieres on TV.
AMC commented on the dispute and the live stream:
“To gain leverage in an unrelated lawsuit, DISH has decided to deny their customers access to AMC shows including The Walking Dead, the series that has shattered basic cable ratings records. Although The Walking Dead is the #1 basic cable scripted drama for DISH customers, DISH has stated it has no plans to bring back AMC. DISH customers who want to watch the entire season at the same time as the rest of the country should switch television providers now…time is running out.”

I don’t understand: why is Dish partnering with AMC to do a live stream on the AMC website?
Don’t think they are… My bad..

Its the same old story, cable channel wants to charge huge rates IN ADDITION to the advertising revenue they get, and they claim that Dish is causing the problem. The issue is simple, AMC wants more money, Dish has a history of trying to keep costs to the customers reasonable and refusing the types of fee increases that AMC is demanding. As a customer I support Dish network because far far too many channels want to suck at the teet of my wallet as it is.
OK 45+ minutes ago I signed up, I still have not recieved the auto email, -2 hours to go.
Looks like I will just have to wait for the release of the BD of s3 to see it, thanks AMC, I am sticking with Dish.
Similar problem here, I signed up as a DISH subscriber to stream the premiere, received the confirmation email, but the confirmation link is bad. I keep getting an error “Error establishing a database connection.”
Looks like AMC didn’t think this through.
Looks like the idea is a bust…..the vid won’t work…..and apparently AMC is only planning to offer the first episode of season 3 anyway! Guess I’ll be watching at my sister’s house…..I’m not going to all the trouble of switching!
Change for one show don’t think so.
I couldn’t watch it either. I registered days ago, but the website wouldn’t let me on. I keep going back and forth on whether I will drop Dish. It is a hassle, but I want the channels I subscribe to and AMC is one of them.
see everyone that i have talked to thinks this is dish’s fault where as amc was the one who pulled their transmission broadcast from dish due to dish not wanting to increase customers rates.. At the beginning of 2012 dish made a promise to its customers that it will not raise the rates of its top packaging till 2013, I stand behind dish 250 percent in this legal debate, i know i dont want my rates to increase, and just think once dish finishes its lawsuit and restores the channel, Directv, Time Warner and all the other pay-tv providers and cable providers will go through a similar negotiation for an increase of price… Stay strong dish!
